Be an Eggcellent Benedict

So my GP told me I was depressed and should probably blog out my feelings because I'm keeping too many thoughts inside and not letting it out. So I should start writing out my thoughts more because it's healthy (?) and I'm totally bullshitting this horribly right now.

I don't know, I just felt like blogging and I've probably completely forgotten what I wanted to talk about but that's possibly the whole point of my blog. No readers. Pressure free - no new content out each week - just whenever and however and whatever I feel like doing.

So I hung out with my friends this morning which was far too early for my liking. I woke up at like seven am which was even earlier than what I usually wake up for for work. Breakfast was at 9 and I had to leave by 8:30. Did not even get up until 8am. I'm getting so good at not caring about what I look like in the morning and regretting it as soon as I leave the house and realise what my friends are wearing. I THOUGHT IT WAS CASUAL! WHY ARE YOU WEARING A DRESS?! I look like a completely mentally and financially unstable human being compared to you.

But anyways, breakfast was good. I'm now hungry though - few hours later. I had an affogato. Just finished taking a nap. Caffeine never does its job for me and I desperately need it because I run out of energy so quickly. Which I've found it is largely due to my unhealthy lifestyle of eat, sleep and poop and then eat even more without exercising. I had an eggs benedict. It was delicious. I'm not going to even attempt to make it because I know I'll stuff up the hollandaise sauce.

So in regards to actual (sort of) intellectual conversation we had today. We discussed about how flipping narrow minded some people are. They've never even heard of the word empathy or the phrase put yourself in someone elses shoes! We all know humans are selfish and why wouldn't we be. It's the only thing we can count on - we came into the world alone and die alone. Humans are so flawed but step around on this Earth and you'll soon realise that we're all social creatures and we all need one another even with our differences. Can people stop being EXTREMELY selfish and just be a tad little bit selfish in the right occassions such as not lending your money to your friend because it is your money. Or perhaps not giving a lift for a family member because you just want to go home as soon as possible! Those are actually reasonable reasons to be selfish. Like its OK. It's ALRIGHT. But when its just not ethical to be selfish and really harms another person - it is not OK.

I don't know what else to really talk about. The sudden urge to blog just disappeared. THIS IS WHY I NEVER BLOG.

// Ok I just remembered.
IT IS NOT OK TO FORCE YOUR OPINIONS/BELIEFS/VALUES ONTO OTHER PEOPLE. I don't even care if you want to be a good role model thats completely up to you and how you want to live your life. I respect that. You can do that with your life and be a perfectly good role model. However, don't force that onto me. I'm only twenty but I feel like I haven't even experienced 75% of what life has got to offer me. Getting married right now is the least of my worries. I want to make new friends and travel the world and hang out with my close friends that don't keep me boxed up and respect me. I need mature friends that act their age and I can't deal with people who put me down and just force their opinions down my throat and expect me to act a certain way because thats what they think and feel is right. I don't do that - that's just not me.

I admit that I'm the type of person that talks about people behind their backs but its really nothing that I wouldn't mind them hearing about from another person. If they found out - I wouldn't deny it because it's what I think of them honestly. I would probably judge someone about their views and create my own personal opinions about it but I wouldn't force you to follow what I believe in and try to pressure you into doing what I think you should do. I'm probably a really bad friend and person and sometimes I think to myself - wow I can't believe I said that. I'm such a horrible friend. It's just one of my big flaws (I think it's actually genetics tbh).

Ok bye /rant over.

Much Ramblings About Nothing Really...

Currently sneezing non-stop (I think I've caught the flu?) and listening to Lisa Mitchell's 'Coin Laundry' whilst freezing to death over Perth's winter weather. I thought I would blog for the night, but I honestly haven't got a topic to add!

My life has actually been quite boring since exams finished - apart from working 4 nights a week, I've done nothing new. Oh! Except I'm getting new eye glasses and sunglasses in the upcoming weeks. The thing is, when I originally set off to get the frames I chose these two pairs:

Then as I went back for my appointment, the sales lady told me that she would not recommend these pairs to me as the frames didn't have nose pads (Asian flat nose syndrome) so they would sit on my cheeks and they would be too heavy and whatnot. The thing is - I've been wearing my current two eye glasses and both frames don't have nose pads and they both sit on my cheeks. I've had no problems with them and I don't mind at all. It's all really personal preference.

I was super annoyed when she suggested other frames to buy and she chose all these super ugly frames which made me look unflattering. Especially the sunglasses - all of them were super ugly. She chose these metal ones which weren't stylish at all. When I finally told her that I would be keeping the sunglass frames she kept on asking me if I was really sure I wanted these - it got super annoying and made me mad. I just don't get it, I think I would know what I like and I've been wearing glasses for the majority of my life - I think I understand what I like and dislike. I've had those nose pad pieces before and they didn't even help - they made my eyes and nose hurt and they ended up sliding down anyways. They also get dirty quickly and they turn into a really disgusting shade if they're not cleaned properly. I'm so low maintenance! Then you end up getting pimples on your nose area.

Anyways, I ended up getting these frames in the end:

Yah, they do have nose pads.

Also, there's only 21 days left until I set off for my Melbourne Trip with my sister and my best friend! We're horrible at planning so we're just going to do stuff and plan along the way when we arrive haha. I hope we don't run out of money soon! I'm super excited because this is the first time I'm traveling with a friend and first time not with my parents. Maybe next time I'll actually travel with just my friend and I or JUST BY MYSELF!

It's also 39 days until I get my Invisalign braces off which I'm pretty stoked about and I feel like I've been smiling and laughing more freely now. It's funny how my self-confidence has improved along with my teeth. It's the little things that help my confidence grow. My teeth used to be so horrible that I would only just smile with my mouth closed.

[rant] Being an adult has absolutely no benefits

I started tweeting about this on my twitter but I think this is worthy enough for a blog post.

Controversial Conversation - Christianity

The past, one or two years, I have found myself to be in the middle of the whirlpool of the strength of my faith and the relationship I have with God. I am a Christian; I am confidently a Christian and a believer of the Holy Spirit. I will stay with this belief unless it can somehow be shaken. I have been flung into this world of atheism, skepticism, moral and critical thinking and I have been questioning my faith and whatnot. I don't have all the answers but here is my point of view and although it may not be a strong argument but through experience and more time, I'm sure I will be able to build it up like I would with my portfolio or resume in the realm of existence.

Didn't like the HUNGER GAMES! [spoilers]

It might come across as a shock to everyone, since I usually like every movie I watch except for some...But personally, I didn't really like the Hunger Games. Honestly, I would prefer Breaking Dawn part 1 (only breaking dawn out of the twilight saga) over the Hunger games. I know many of my friends love it so much and think it's even better than Harry Potter. Seriously?! This movie gave me a migraine and I couldn't even see what was happening. The worst part is, is that it was so unrealistic and it was like they were trying to put everything into the book! Some people might complain that it didn't stay true to the book and what not, but I believe that the most important part of making a movie based on a novel, is just to pick out the important events and place it in the movie. You don't need to put every single detail into the movie unless you want it to be like 10 hours long.

Hungry Jacks customers {rant}

I have actually not blogged on here since last year, I really should do that more this year! :) That shall be one of my resolutions though I don't think I will be able to achieve it as I would like it to because of year 12! Eeek!

Anyways, in November 2011 - I went for an interview for Hungry Jacks since I had already finished my year 11 exams and I had like 3 months of holidays. My dad's friend is actually a manager at Hungry Jacks so she called me for an interview and just come for an small interview and they actually hired me...Oh my gosh, what a laugh - I came back home that day after the interview and realised that my school socks (which I wore to the interview had holes in them.. how embarassing!)

Hungry Jacks wasn't what I was hoping for my first job to be and I hated it at first - especially since I had to do the washing up and putting meat down the broiler. I had no idea what to expect and thought it would be an easy job (NOPE!)  I remember discussing with my friends what sort of jobs we wanted to work at but that was when I realised, if I can't handle simple jobs like this, then why in the world would other places like Easyway and coffee shops want to hire someone unexperienced like me?! The first couple weeks were deadly and exhausting mainly because I had no idea what was going on and most of the time people were telling me things I had no idea what they were talking about. So yeah, after like 3 weeks of putting meat in the broiler and washing up, I finally learnt how to do the fries and how to make burgers (though I only made burgers for like one day lol)...Then they moved me to front counter the day after I learnt how to make burgers.

The front counter is definitely better than the kitchen, and it's especially convenient for me since I've experienced what's in the burgers and what's happening in the back and like break times and everything. The only thing I really dislike about the front counter are the customers.

OH MY GOSH! I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I HATE SOME OF THE CUSTOMERS AT HUNGRY JACKS! Okay, I obviously don't hate all of the customers and there are some that I do really respect and like especially the ones that say 'thank you' and say 'you too' when I tell them to have a nice day. I especially respect the ones that have been waiting for a long time for their order and they don't have a scrunched or mad face on and don't even complain and even when I apologize to them, they say it's alright and give a smile and hurry off to their next destination.

Some of the customers that I have encountered that I really dislike are mostly teenagers (mind you, I'm a teenager myself) and seniors.

So at Hungry Jacks, we have this senior policy that they get a free drink if they've bought a burger or breakfast muffin. Most of the seniors are so damn picky about this! They obviously need to show the cashier their senior's card, and sometimes I can tell that they're a senior because of their appearance and everything...they just look like it. Then there are others that don't look that old and I can't tell if they're a senior or in their late 40's or something. So this one time, I'm taking an order and they want a flat white and a kids meal for the child and so I tell them the amount. Then they go all psycho on me and everything say that they're a senior and they don't need to pay for the coffee and constantly repeat it over and over again like I'm the one whose deaf. Well, the least they could have done is show me their senior's card or start dressing their age and stop getting botox to make yourself younger than you look. Other seniors are like this too, especially the ones that want you to mix the sugar in for them. Look, there is like 10 other people waiting in line after you and you can't even mix the sugar for yourself?!

Today, it was very busy and since I work at a Hungry Jacks which is in a food court, it gets really noisy. So, it is so annoying, and most of the time I just guess the order and repeat it back to them. Now the teenagers...so they walk up to the counter and start ordering like the speed of a train...

'Iwantawhopperinamealandinsteadofthesoftdrinkiwantabubblegumslushieohandinthewhoppercantherebenopicklesonionsandtomatoesandcanigetsomespicysaucewiththat'

...So, I put in whatever I've heard and I ask 'would you like that in a meal?' (this is like a habit, cause I say it like every single time). Then they reply like 'THAT'S WHAT I SAID! I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT!' with their eyes rolling and everything and their face is like 'omg i can so do a better job than you.' and I'm just like 'bitch please (not really), what size meal do you want with that? There's a small, regular or large.' I can't exactly mind read! Not my fault when I put down a regular meal and you get your order and you're like 'I didn't order a regular! I asked for a large!' The same goes for drinks as well 'I ASKED FOR A FANTA!' Wow, calm down. It just takes 10 seconds for me to get you a drink so you don't exactly need to wait. And then there's like 'And what drink would you like to have with that?' 'OMG I ALREADY TOLD YOU I WANT A COKE ZERO!' Well, I'm sorry, just making sure, in case I accidentally give you a coke instead. It really bothers me how I give them a receipt with the change and instead of checking if I have everything down, they just leave it on the counter and just take the change then go chat with their friends and stand right in front of the counter while there's 10 other people behind them waiting in line.

There's also the people with eftpos...For our eftpos machine, we need to press the button so the eftpos will start working and goes to credit/debit. So after I've told the microphone what burgers they need to make. I repeat the order for the customer and tell them the total and then they start swiping the card. So I need to press the EFTPOS button on the machine and they're just like 'Why isn't it working?' and start swiping it again and again. 'Am I swiping it the right way?' No, you're not sorry.

There's also the people who ask for vegie burgers!!!!!! Vegie patties need to be cooked for like 2 minutes!!! If you're ordering a vegie burger, expect it to take a while or don't order it at all if you're in a hurry. The customers that order a vegie burger always get so impatient. Don't they understand that they didn't order a whopper (whopper meat is kept in a heat chute) but a vegie burger which needs the vegie patty to be cooked and the burger to be made?!

There are also customers who just stare at you while waiting for your order like, or stare at you while waiting in line, or stare at you while you're finishing up an order and you need to get the drinks for the customer first before taking another order. They expect you to take their order first before anything else and start ordering even though you need to hand another customer's order first. It is so annoying when they start ordering even though you're not ready to take an order! Don't they have any patience? I especially dislike those people who just push in line and start ordering even though they just pushed in front of 7 other people.

Meh, that's all I can think of for now - I shall think of more the next time I rant!

School and Sleepovers

So, now it's currently term 2 holidays and that means we would have already received our semester 1 reports already! I thought I would have done so much better, I was so disappointed in myself. I guess I'm just so used to getting A's or B's for my report and only like 1 C...

But this year, I received only 2 A's!!!! My parents were extremely disappointed in me and I was so embarrassed with myself. I knew that I wasn't working to the best of my ability, since I was procrastinating so much and compared my my friends in my classes - I wasn't working properly and putting the best effort I could of. I'm going to try to at least push my C's to a B, and my B's to an A and try to improve my A's even more. I need all of these scores to add up together so I can go to university.

I've always dreamed of going into university (Sims 2 had a big influence XD ), but many people say that university is very fun and everything. And since, I've been at the same school since I was 5 years old, I've never really made new friends (well I have, but not at a new school), and been the new girl? at a new school. It's just going to be super fun, and I don't want to miss out on all the fun just because I couldn't graduate and go to university just because I wasn't working well enough in school.

UWA

Also, even though when my parents ask me what I want to be when I grow up - I have no idea. I know that I want to study social psychology in university, but honestly, I have no idea what to be when I grow up. I'm thinking of business, with like a full on desk and writing reports and everything but that seems like a really boring job and I'm more of an art person...but at the same time psychology is just so interesting and intriguing... I just hope, somehow, God can guide me to the right directions and lead me to whatever path he has planned out for me. I'm sure he has a future for me and somehow in my future, he would want me to help spread the word about Him but at the same time, survive through this sinful world. (Sorry if I seem like a pessimist)

Anyways, end of rant.

Paintbrushes, Coffee and Psychology

Fight for what you love, And love what you fight for
School is starting soon. Year 11, they say.
That's two more years until I graduate. That's a scary thought.
I'm one of those people who are still deciding what to do with their life.
I don't have any particular interests besides blogging and going on facebook.
I'm not an outgoing person and I'm excluded from the rest of the crowd because of one flaw.
I'm an idealist, I think too much and speak too little. I don't speak what's on my mind; I bottle it up.
It's just so scary to think that once I'm over these 2 years of exams and constant studying - I'm out there, in society where I'll have to work or continue studying at different universities from my current friends.
I'll lose contact with them (like I always do) and they'll make new ones and everything in highschool just seems like a blur.
When did time catch up and speed ahead?
I'm still taking it in all very slowly.
I don't want this to be over.
Not yet.

I don't even know what I want to be and what to do with my life yet,
All I can do is wait, look around to see if God has given me any signs.
I'm blind though, I can't pick up these signs because I'm dreaming.
I've been dreaming a lot these days too.
The dreams are indescribable and queer.
It's as if it's predicting the future but the future seems so far away.

I'm just a confused teenage girl with too much on her mind.

End rant.

Nobody's Perfect : Michelle Phan Controversy [rant]

I really don't want to post this but I have to get it out of my system since it's bugging me to much as to how much hate there is towards a person.

Dear 'Haters,' 'Ex-Phans,' 'People passing by,' 'Person who happened to drop by,' 'Followers,' 'YouTubers,' and 'People in the Trash a Guru' section (not all of the people because some actually hate moderately and some people just full on hate all the way)

I am not a 'minion' or an obsessed fangirl or boy nor am I a hater. I just think that you should hate moderately (oh, I use to like her until... i did/didn't like that tutorial but she did do a messy job/ though i did like,) and not go on whincing and complaining about every single flaw about Michelle Phan (I hated that tutorial everything was messy and stupid like...and like..., did you see what she posted on facebook? she should have just used..., YOU SHOULD UNSUBSCRIBE! ). Nobody is perfect like seriously! You might think that 'oh that's what everyone says!' but how else am I suppose to break it to you that everybody is flawed?

So, some people write back saying that they shouldn't be so mean and everything in the forums. Then people write back as to why Michelle is a bad person and then they write 'if you want to rave about a guru there's a section for it - this is trash a guru.' Since I'm on neither, I can just write whatever I want right? Well here goes.

Skins

So if you don't know already - Skins UK version (NOT US version, it so far looks completely rubbish btw)
Skins is a British teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, South West England, through the two years of sixth form. The controversial plot line explores issues such as dysfunctional families, mental illness (including eating disorders), sexual orientation identity, substance abuse and death. - Taken from Wikipedia

Okay, if you're not into Gossip Girl and all that stuff you're thinking that it's either just like that or worse. Believe me, I reckon Skins is completely way better than Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl may be more fancy and rich and 'oh the posh lives of so and so' but 2 words: it's so unrelatable and unrealistic. Unless you're a rich socialite who goes to a rich expensive school, then yes - you can relate to it. And yes, if you sleep with different guys even if you don't like them. Seriously, I used to love Gossip Girl but now that I've thought about it. It's really actually quite stupid. The only ever couple I actually do like is Chuck and Blair. The rest of the couples ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS break up. So Serena sleeps with Dan, break up, Serena sleeps with Nate, they break up, Nate sleeps with Jenny, Jenny sleeps with Chuck, Chuck sleeps with Blair, Blair sleeps with Nate, Nate sleeps with Vanessa, Vanessa sleeps with Dan.... you know? It's like they're sleeping with each other. I do love the fashion and the setting. But especially the fashion.

edit:// [02/01/11] Okay, I reckon I'm being unreasonable - I actually do like Gossip Girl but when you compare it to Skins. Skins is 10000 times more better. Gossip Girl has some pros and cons too! If you've ever read the book, it's actually a really good read. Though the characters in the book and the characters in the show are really different. I think I like Gossip Girl mostly because of the fashion, as I've mentioned, and the glitz and glamour they're surrounded in. There's also the Queen Bee - Blair and the parties and the many events that socialites go to. Which is what makes it interesting, for me because it's like going into a new world of the rich and famous. Which is what Dan actually feels like as he's brought into Serena's world. It's not all perfect, there's many flaws and I like that. It's not that I hate Gossip Girl but I used to love it when I watched season 1 but now that I think it over - it's actually not that good.

Now...Skins is another completely different teenage drama. It focuses lots of different issues that most teenagers face and it's relatable and sort of realistic I guess. I wouldn't know, I'm not British. (But neither am I American) I do know that we've studied about teenagers and drugs and unsafe sex and eating disorders though in school though. Though I do have to warn you (before you get addicted to it!) that they use a lot of swear words and I don't think that anyone younger than 13 should really watch this.

The teenagers in Skins worry about their virginity, their family, they worry about their religion and how their friends think because one of the characters is gay.
You have your gorgeous confident ringleader who is manipulative and seems to get everything his way.
You have the person who likes his best friend's girlfriend and can't even tell that some other girl is obsessed with him and he has to suffer with getting a good school grade.
You have the girl who has an eating disorder and tries to suicide because the guy doesn't like him.
You have your religious guy who prays 5 times a day.
You have the party person who takes drugs and has fallen in love with his teacher.
You have the stunning gorgeous girl who worries about his gorgeous boyfriend because he secretly cheats on her with some rich girl.
You have the musician who comes from a musical background and practices hard for a competition but doesn't win.
Then you have the openly gay character and you know where that leads him.

Every single one of the characters, teenagers can relate in some way or another. My favourite characters are Cassie and Maxxie. :)

Cassie

Maxxie

I'm sorry Gossip Girl, but I really did try, I watched like 2 seasons and a bit of season 3 :/
Cant embed but:
Watch the trailer pretty much sums up all the characters.

Death

A Father died today,
A loving Husband passed away,
A professional person rested in peace,
A protective brother is gone,
A hilarious son has disappeared,

Is it their brother? Is it your husband? Is it my father?

No, no it's not but can you imagine - just imagine today, was the day someone special to you died.

Prayer Meeting

I don't really like to blog about God and Jesus Christ because I'm not a person who should be preaching and all since I'm not a role model to anyone. I look up to a lot of people and some people who I look up to are my friends, my mum and my church leader who teaches us and I also look up to people who I don't even know on Tumblr because they post about their and other people's experiences and relationship with God. They inspire me so much but this post is mainly about some of my friends who I really envy because of their faith!
