Happiness is the key for a happy life




This TED Talk really spoke to me when the speaker, Shawn Achor, mentioned the ripples of positivity. I find this so relevant to my life right now. I was offered a job - finally - after almost 2 years of applying for jobs and attending interviews and this was after I had started my new job at a coffeeshop where I established a routine.


However, even after being offered a job after almost 2 years of failure - the initial happiness of success wears off. Having a great job (even though I haven't even started yet) isn't the key to happiness; I still wake up in bed crying over the loss of my dear Chocolate and listening to certain songs make me tear up and cry in the car. Getting an amazing job just doesn't mean you'll automatically be happy. I am the happiest when I'm spending time with my friends, family and dog.

Having the responsibility of a job just means that I'll be able to use those experiences and skills to increase my financial situation. To be able to allow me to be financial stable and secure in my life. What this means in the end? It will allow me the freedom to pursue my dreams and hobbies...So what I really need to do now is find a hobby I enjoy.

Water, H2O -- BLUE GOLD

You ever just watch a documentary that completely changes your mind and thoroughly provokes your thoughts. I've been watching environmental documentaries lately and I highly recommend Blue Gold.


Wars of the future will be fought over water as they are over oil today, as the source of human survival enters the global marketplace and political arena. Corporate giants, private investors, and corrupt governments vie for control of our dwindling supply, prompting protests, lawsuits, and revolutions from citizens fighting for the right to survive. Past civilizations have collapsed from poor water management. Can the human race survive?

The environment has always been a stressing issue and a huge reason why I love the Lorax by Dr. Seuss. There's a good quote from a Chinese film I watched recently, The Mermaid, and one of the characters asks the main character a really good question:

'Hypothetically, if you had only one minute left in your life. Hypothetically, if the earth didn't have a single drop of clean water left or a single breath of clean oxygen left. What do you want to do most?'

We're depleting the Earth of oxygen and water all for the sake of money. What happens once we've gotten our money? Money isn't important anymore when the Earth is damaged because of it. You won't be able to breath or drink clean water and then your health suffers and making money was for nothing because of it. 

We are a circle of life and so is the environment. We are born, we grow up and die and turn into soil. The trees grow from the soil, then give out clean oxygen for us to breathe. We all learn about where water comes from right? Water comes from rain water, then it falls to the ground, the soil soaks it up and the water goes back into the ocean and the clouds evaporate it and then the clouds make it rain. 

BUT HOW CAN WE HAVE WATER WHEN WE'RE AFFECTING THE CYCLE?

1. We're destroying forests
2. We're building dams
3. We're polluting rivers

The reason why there is less rain water is because the clouds are taking less in less water from the oceans! The reason why there is less water in the oceans is because there isn't enough water in the ground. The reason why there isn'ts enough water in the ground is because the roots of the trees aren't there anymore to push the water into the ground. The roots of the trees are getting removed because we're removing the forests to build houses and infrastructure established by big companies that care more about money than the environment! They don't care about us - they're rich and they can just buy bottled water. 

The only ones at stake are lower and middle class people. We can't afford to pay bottled water every day. We need to protect the environment from huge companies that will (in the future) make us buy water because water is and will run out. 

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this documentary and urge you to watch this. It is eye opening.

I created a new mini vlog using film from way back in July 2015 when I went to visit Perth's secret garden. It's only less than a minute long. Trying to get some practising in before I go on holiday back to Hong Kong and hopefully will end up getting some exciting new footage in. I also need to discover some new music for potential background music for my vlogs and video diaries. No luck so far but will hopefully post a Spotify playlist when I discover some new tracks.

So I was going through my iPhoto images as I wanted to browse through my photos which I took back in 2013/2014 when I went back to Hong Kong (and also visited Taiwan) when I discovered that I actually filmed a lot of videos during my holidays.

This quickly inspired me to film a video diary like those beautiful ones Zoe Suen puts together. Mines not as good as hers but it was greatly inspired by her video diaries. It took me around 4 hours to put it altogether (including uploading and publishing it) and I am super proud of what I created. Hopefully I can continue improving in the future but I'm so in love with the video's thumbnail. I didn't even specifically choose one - it just came up.

The Paper Kites

If you didn't know already, it's currently exam week/s in Australia and I had a total of three exams with two of them on the same day! I had Accounting, Economics and Business Information Systems! It has been an extremely stressful week and I wanted to end it by going to The Paper Kites concert here in Perth at the Western Australian Art Gallery. This was on the 19th of June.

After I had finished my last exam at 4:30pm, I went back home to get changed/charge my phone and switch my bag so I didn't need to bring all of my study notes. Then I went to the train station to catch the train at 6:30pm and was just about to reach the Perth train station when it suddenly stopped! The doors wouln't open for a good solid one minute and everyone was just crowding and standing around the train doors. The driver announced that something had happened and that it would take some time to solve it. So, there I was - trapped in a train - so close to my destination and the concert was starting at 8pm!


I swear I was on the train for a good half an hour before they announced they were going back to the last train station! It was already 7:30 around this time and the train was supposed to arrive at Perth at 6:53pm! I was honestly getting claustrophobic and worried that I would miss the concert. My friend, Paige, was already inside the Artbar and she was all by herself and I hungry and thirsty all by myself with these strangers. 

As we were dropped off at the train station, we got off, and they didn't tell us whether there would be a train replacement bus so everyone was extremely confused over where to go. I just followed this lady and waited at the bus stop. 10 minutes already passed and there were more people waiting but no train replacement bus so I called my sister (mind you, my phone was running on 15% battery) and she came to pick me up at 8pm!!! 

I arrived at the artbar at 8:10pm and I managed to make it on time???!! WHAT THE FUCK. I am extremely shocked at how I managed to make it on time!

[REVIEW] FAULT IN OUR STARS MOVIE REVIEW

I had the utmost pleasure of seeing an advanced screening of 'The Fault in Our Stars' yesterday as my friend won two tickets through a student competition. She had already watched it once and I was so excited and extremely overwhelmed that my friend chose me out of all of her 900 Facebook friends to go watch it with!

We got to the Belmont Reading Cinema by bus after uni at 5pm and decided to get popcorn. Then we decided to buy drinks as well but then there was a line already forming so I waited in line while my friend bought the drinks and by the time she got the drinks a line had formed from all the way to the outside of the building!!! We also had to give our phones to the crew as we weren't allowed to have any cameras/phones in the building but the two men with the metal detectors couldn't even detect the huge ass laptop and my small iPod we were carrying in our bags haha (Fake metal detectors)

The screen was huge and there were so many people. Luckily we got in early and grabbed great setas! These are the only two photos I have of yesterday as we weren't allowed photos inside the cinema.

Now onto my short review (may include spoilers):

The Number 34

I was watching Laina's video the other day, she's also known as Overly Attached Girlfriend (OAG), about the Number 20 and it got me thinking about my creepy number. However, I didn't realise it until today that I had a creepy number. My creepy number is 34/43 or 3&4.

So I went to the driving center today to request for an ID card because it's really inconvenient without one. I can't get into bars, clubs, get a new phone, get a new bank account without it. I had to fill in some forms and that's when I realised that both of my contact numbers have the number '34' in them. My mobile number (9134) and home number (9343) and so it reminded me of Laina's video. Might I add that today is also the 12th of April (1+2 = 3) (0+4 = 4)

So then when me and my sister went to have lunch, I was browsing through my cards in my wallet and it struck me that both of my student cards, my university student number (4243) and my high school number (7346) both have 3 & 4 in them. What really scared me was when I added up my birthday and it added up to 34. My birthday is the 8th of February 1995 by the way so it's 2+8+1+9+9+5 = 34. When I realised that, I told my sister who was in the driver's seat next to me and a truck was driving up next to her at the traffic lights. Guess what the truck's number plate was? 534

After I told her about my birthday and the number 34, I went to change the song that we were listening to and it was playing at exactly 1 minute and 34 seconds into the song.

Guess what just happened...I was watching this video when I realised something.
34. 34. 34. 34. EVERYWHERE!!!

Maybe I'm just being paranoid or maybe the number 34 just follows me around everywhere. Maybe everyone has a creepy number. Perhaps it's just a coincidence? I'm not sure but let me know if you've discovered you have a creepy number too!

I also realised that our new car's number plate is 843 and the bus I take everyday on the way to the train station/university is 344. Also our house address is 7 (3+4 = 7). Will keep this updated if I find anymore of these!

Nobody's Perfect : Michelle Phan Controversy [rant]

I really don't want to post this but I have to get it out of my system since it's bugging me to much as to how much hate there is towards a person.

Dear 'Haters,' 'Ex-Phans,' 'People passing by,' 'Person who happened to drop by,' 'Followers,' 'YouTubers,' and 'People in the Trash a Guru' section (not all of the people because some actually hate moderately and some people just full on hate all the way)

I am not a 'minion' or an obsessed fangirl or boy nor am I a hater. I just think that you should hate moderately (oh, I use to like her until... i did/didn't like that tutorial but she did do a messy job/ though i did like,) and not go on whincing and complaining about every single flaw about Michelle Phan (I hated that tutorial everything was messy and stupid like...and like..., did you see what she posted on facebook? she should have just used..., YOU SHOULD UNSUBSCRIBE! ). Nobody is perfect like seriously! You might think that 'oh that's what everyone says!' but how else am I suppose to break it to you that everybody is flawed?

So, some people write back saying that they shouldn't be so mean and everything in the forums. Then people write back as to why Michelle is a bad person and then they write 'if you want to rave about a guru there's a section for it - this is trash a guru.' Since I'm on neither, I can just write whatever I want right? Well here goes.

California Cupcakes



When I first watched the video I was full on paying attention to the food! Dude!!! Look at the cupcakes! Okay, so I know this may sound weird since it is on Katy Perry's bra and everything but that is a cupcake and I love cupcakes. I even have an email address called 'cuppiecakes' how can I not be devoted to cupcakes?

I would so like to film that music video!! And I do, I do, I do love her dress ~ it just instantaneously reminds me of candies, lollies and cupcakes! (because of the colours) It's like entering Willy Wonka's factory all over again!!! Though, I don't like how she put the cupcakes and her outfit on the sand >< So weird...and totally puts me off from eating that cupcake :/

Spesh the ending of the MV, I was full on like -__- 'wtf?' reminds me of the whole 'Hating Alison Ashley' from year 7 starring Delta Goodrem and how she had plastic bottles...... WTH moment!

Sims had twins...what to do?



Nice song!

Anyways, recently I bought Sims 2 Double Deluxe and started playing and then my sims had twins! It's so annoying. The toddlers especially they crawl all around and everything and the teenage girl is like failing school because of them and the parents are like super red in needs D:


As you can seee there are two baby beds and two diaper changing things.
And this is only the baby stage =___=

This made me sleep in Hong Kong even though we live on the 33rd floor.
Sleeping makes it hard because just outside it's a road and a tourist attraction.
And there are still heaps of cars even at 2 in the morning. 

Cinderella's Sister/Cinderella Unni - Yesung - It has to be you

So, starting from yesterday I watched Cinderella's Sister and am already totally in love with it and can't wait for next Wednesday and Thursday. I think I got my sister hooked and my dad says he will download the episodes for me. He likes Moon Geun Young. I'm so obsessed with the triangle (soon to be square when Taec comes >,<) already between HyoSun, KiJoon and EunJo.

And of course, I'm in love with the ending ballad by Super Junior's Yesung!!!!

I also did my hair like EunJo's using the chopsticks and I'm going to stick with it! It's so easy and stays in place and everything. Very nice :)
