1Q84/ Town of Cats

I recently finished 1Q84 the other day. I started it last year and a year later I finally finished it. I did it! I reached the next milestone of my life - it seems. Personally, 1Q84 is so far one of my favourites. I personally even liked it more than the Wind Up Bird Chronicle which was my favourite novel of Murakami's.

1Q84 was such a roller coaster ride and I'm glad I continued reading it until the very end as I loved the ending so much. I loved the way it is written from the perspective (third person) of Aomame and Tengo and how both worlds slowly collide with each other until you see the same thing from different perspectives. It's such a clever way to write the novel. The more I think about it, the more I fall in love with the whole story. It tackles so many themes and gives new insight into the world surrounding us. I love it so much. I can't wait to dive into Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage!

Ao Haru Ride

There are so many anime shows to watch this season! The ones I'm currently following are:

  • Free! Eternal Summer
  • Glasslip
  • Sailor Moon Crystal
  • Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
  • Ao Haru Ride

Kou: I…loved you.
Kou: But we can’t go back there again.

I've been reading Ao Haru Ride since it started being uploaded/scanlated onto manga sites and I'm super excited about it being adapted into an anime and ALSO a live action! I loved Strobe Edge so much! It was basically my high school shoujo manga and had a huge crush on Ren-kun and I adored Ninako so much. I'm really looking forward to all these anime shows this season and hopefully they get extended into second seasons so I can continue watching it!

Juria Nakagawa: Style Idol

Hello my lovely readers, people who happen to browse through and creepy stalkers!

Today I would like to share with you one of my style inspirations/ style idols whom I have recently become obsessed with! Her name is Juria Nakagawa and she's the same age as me ~ 17 years old! I discovered her while browsing through Tokyo Fashion to look at beautiful Harajuku fashion which lead me to her tumblr blog where most of these photos I stole from!

I really like this look! It's so casual yet it has a bit of an edge to it.

Other than the fact that we're both the same age, Asian, average height, love tattoo tights and a lover of Harajuku style - she's pretty much got an insane sense of fashion. She's become quite popular lately and her photos have been posted around tumblr a lot.

She currently works at a shop named AvantGarde in Harajuku (is that not the classiest name ever?!) and a model/DJ as well!

She's best known for her cute but punk style! As you can see from the photos below, she usually has these pastel coloured long hair and she matches it with darker clothes which are more grunge. (Sorry, I'm terrible at explaining/describing things) So this makes her have this unique look of having cute/punk/creepy style which I absolutely adore!

I love both styles! I think I'm more of a WHITE (right) style as of now.
As I'm turning 18 in less than a month (eek!) I sort of want to venture off into a new style which would suit my age more. I haven't really developed a style per se but if I were to pick a style ~ it would definitely be Juria Nakagawa's because it's not completely punk/goth but it's not completely cute/sweet like I see in Harajuku usually. It's like a mixture of both!

Love this outfit. She dropped her signature tattoo tights but she still looks fab.

She is also known for her makeup as well which I think is so pretty yet Gothic at the same time! It's usually purple with or without sparkles paired with dark circle lenses. I really like it but I don't think I can pull it off without looking like I've just bruised my eye or something.

One of her more 'sweeter' looks yet still totally keeping the gothic look with her makeup and armlet/choker.

Loving both of their outfits. Do you get what I mean by her style?!
One of the other things I love about Juria's style is her AMAZING hair!! It's always a shade of pastel which are one of my favourite things in the world. Anything that's pastel pink, purple or blue ~ I immediately fall in love with.

I actually attempted to do this to my own hair; this mermaid/pony/pastel hair but unfortunately, I didn't use a strong enough bleach and I didn't buy the correct toner (I think?) and so now it's an orange, brassy colour which I absolutely hate and my hair is still quite dry and damaged after being soaked in conditioner!

HOWEVER! I still want Juria's hair no matter what but I don't know if I will get a job if I have purple hair ... Ugh, life.

One of the styles I would totally wear!

Strobe Edge

This is a short post but - after 4 years of reading and waiting for STROBE EDGE by Sakisaka Io, I have finally finished the whole series!! 36 chapters and 10 volumes.I don't even know what to feel inside but I feel so happy and totally going >,< all through the couple last chapters. Definitely top in my manga list!!! And Ren is sooo hot!!!!!

It has made my heart flutter, beat and always manages to pull on my heartstrings and always, ALWAYS makes me go 'AWWWWWW' I loved the ending and it has taught me so many things and guided me along with Ninako's (which is such a cute name btw) first love and the challenges she (and many other teenage girls) face with love and relationships! I don't know what manga to read now, I just feel like I've reached my goal and achieved something and now I feel all good inside, especially since the last chapter was filled with 'nawww~~~' moments!

Read it there!!!

Japan

I'm pretty sure everyone knows about the Japan tsunami by now...
So...wow, if you've watched the news - you'd know about how LARGE the disaster was.
It was honestly...horrible and heartbreaking.
Even though I'm glad that the japanese exchange students we had last year are completely safe -
but it's still really saddening that thousands and thousands of people are confirmed dead or missing.
And a lot of the japanese exchange students had friends and family in Tokyo so I hope they won't be worried and that their friends and family will all be safe.

I hope everyone can help support Japan and hopefully they can rebuild again,
hopefully the people who have lost family and friends will regain their strength,
hopefully everyone can help contribute and continue to pray for Japan.

I know this is really late but it's just been really sad,
and here I am just looking around and nothing ever happens here
and I'm just so glad - it's good the way it is.

Thank you to everyone who donated~~!!!!

30 Day Asian Drama Challenge [in a couple of days] Day 1 ~ Q1-6

Because I can never seem to actually finish it all in time. I always end up finding a better one to do ahaha.

So I'll split it up into 5 days....Which is 6 questions each :)

Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season episode 1: Valentine's Day

Contains SPOILERS and LOTS OF PHOTOS:

So after a week of constant waiting I finally watched Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 episode 1 (the other one didn't count!!) - Valentine's Day. Although I've already read the manga but watching the anime made me even more upset that Sawako didn't give the chocolates to Kazehaya!! He was looking forward to them and it seemed like everyone else had them except for him D:

Even though Kurumi is really adorable and cute, in this episode I really hated her!! No wonder why they put the Episode 0 about Kurumi and her "rejection" so we could feel sorry for her and understand her side of the story. Me and Kurumi have a love/hate relationship. I totally hate her sometimes but then I totally love her and pity her. Haha. Though Sawako will always and I mean ALWAYS beat Kurumi!! Both personality and looks ^_^

Otome Youkai Zakuro Episode 13 (Finale)

I finished~ I finished~ I finished~ Otome Youkai Zakuro! YEAH YEAH YEAH. It was so brilliantly good!

Thought the fighting scene (against Lady Rangui) went on way too quickly and everything was burning and on fire and yet they were fighting. Damn Lady Rangui is so freaky!!!! Her voice and the eyes and the arms...and the bald hair. I like her better in human form even though her humungous boobs irks me x_x

When Agemaki told Zakuro that he loved her and when Zakuro pulled out her pendant to unleash her full power!!! IT WAS SOOO EXCITING!!! Then Zakuro just full on killed Lady Rangui with one strike. (Pretty fast fighting scene) But.....AGEMAKI TOLD ZAKURO THAT HE LOVED HER!!!!! Then she replied "You're suppoed to wait until everything's been taken care of' XD

I thought the building would have collapsed already XD Especially the bit when Omodaka wanted to stay with his mother. I thought it was collapse already since it was dragging on and on...

At the end, it was soo sweet and the guys had to leave TT_TT so each of them said their goodbyes. They were all so very sweet but so sorry Zakuro and Agemaki but I thought Riken and Susukihotaru were the winners! They were so incredibly cute and adorable.

I got soooooooo sad when they left and the ending song just made it worse. Then Omodaka and that other half-spirit girl were alive!!!!

Then when they came back and got reinstated I was like 'well I got sad for nothing' AND THEY THE TWO LITTLE SPIRITS!!! AHAHAHAHA They told the rest of them that Zakuro and Agemaki kissed!!!! Sooo funny!!!

Day 10 : A photo of your favorite place to eat

JAPANESE EXCHANGE STUDENTS!!! #3

Today was their last day and at lunch time it was such an emotional and sad mood.
My eyes were teary but I wasn't crying.
Everyone was so upset and everbody didn't want them to leave.
Neither did they, well perhaps some of them but some of the japanese students didn't want to leave.

Even though it's only been 11 days,
it was really nice to have them at our school and to learn the Australian culture.
I was also glad I learnt a lot about Japanese culture and I loved their clothes.
I love their culture and their language I hope to visit Japan one day!

"愛してる 日本の学生!
ユリエ、泉、ゆき、はるな、ミサ、葉月、美佐子

オーストラリアで楽しい時を過すか?
私たちはあなたを欠場!

愛、シンディ "

I don't know the guys names :x

JAPANESE EXCHANGE STUDENTS!!! #2

Today, Hazuki was in our form today. It was really funny, Charlotte was trying to talk to her but she couldn't understand so she used google translate. It was really funny~ except I didn't say anything much. But I watched.

In economics class, I found out that the japanese students had their own english class so they don't have lessons with the host students...and I was really happy that Chelsea was in our class because I haven't met Isabella's or Chelsea's exchange students - Haruna and Misa properly yet.

Then we had recess and I was really excited. Me and Rin wanted to go talk to the group of japanese students (girls) so we did.

At first I asked if they liked Big Bang and they did, and they liked Tohoskinki/DBSK/TVXQ and one of the girls said they liked _____ (sorry I forgot xD) and I said I liked Hero and then they were all puzzled. Rin asked me who it was and I replied 'Jaejoong' and one of the girls were like 'AH! Jaejoong!' Ahahah it was funny. Then I think we left because it got awkward.

After a while, we went over there again to ask more questions but Yun, Faith and Rebecca and Naomi tagged along as well. Oh wait, actually Naomi wanted to get to know them or something.

So I introuduced Naomi but then it went silent so I started making small talk.
'So how old are you?'
'16, 17, 17, 16, 17'
'Do you know Hamasaki Ayumi?'
'Ah yes!'
'So where are you from? Kyoto, Osaka, To (except I didn't pronounce it right I think ahaha)
'Oh we are all from Osaka.....Where are you from?'
'I am from Hong Kong.'
Then they were like 'OHH Hong Kong' and started talking between themselves.
'Beautiful Night skyview' (I didn't understand them the first time - it took me a while to get it.'
'Oh thank you.'
-SILENCE- ahahah
'So...do you like Hana Yori Dango?'
'Ah yes~'
'Have you watched the Korean version?'
And the korean fans one was like 'Yes!'
'Who do you like out of ___ (Lol, I didn't know what to say. I didn't think they would understand 'out of Boys Before Flowers' and specifically the korean version.'
Then Rin completed it by saying 'F4'
and the korean fan was like 'Kim Hyung joong!'
and we were all like ooooooohhh.
Then the bell rang so we all said bye bye.

:)

JAPANESE EXCHANGE STUDENTS!!! #1

Recently, well last Friday to be exact, the Japanese exchange students came to our school. I was one of the few people to see them arrive as I was on my way back to Christian Life Studies class from getting my portrait from the Art class and I saw all of them arriving. Then I saw them after school going home with their host families. After school, I also webcam-ed with one of my friends who was hosting a Japanese exchange. Her name was called Haruna!
haruna
Above is a picture that Isabella gave me after the shot. Excuse me but the only person who looked good was my friend, Isabella –_- hmph.  (No wonder she gave me this picture)
Haruna looks way prettier in real life and she’s heaps tall and skinny as well! I know,,, because today I saw her! I also saw the rest of the japanese exchange students and were introduced to most of them. It was really pleasant :)
One of them also liked Hana Yori Dango and Hamasaki Ayumi too~ SO happy!
Will update tomorrow, there’re only staying here for two weeks D:
