So, the other day (December 2012) while shopping with my lovely friend, Sarah, I bought the iPod Nano 7th Gen on a whim. It all happened so fast, I didn't even have time to process the fact that I now owned my very first iPod. Yes, that's right. FIRST!
As it is my first iPod, I won't really have anything to compare it to so just bear with me on this one and assume it's a reviewer's first impression on new technology.
The price wasn't that overpriced on terms for an Apple product (I think) I bought it myself for $150 AUD. It was originally $160 but my friend had a discount card which she let me use. The current iPod Nano I am reviewing is in red/pink and is 16GB which is a lot!
Note: Image Heavy!
Packaging
I thought the packaging was really cute as it came in a small plastic case and you flipped it to open it up. It came with the earphones and charger and which were neatly tucked inside. There was also an information sheet and the usual Apple stickers and also extra information about the product. I thought it was simple and easy to use. However, I did have some trouble getting the actual nano out of the plastic which protected it but that must have been me being stupid.
Nano and iPod nano package
Design
L to R (clockwise): Side, Top, Button, Bottom of iPod Nano
Back of the Nano
Overall, the packaging is so sleek and modernistic. It really screams APPLEFuturistic21st Century! I bought the one in product red (however, it looks more of a rosy pink to me).
I actually really love this design compared to the previous ones. The 6th generation didn't really appeal to me that much as it was way too small for my liking and didn't look like a music player to me at all. When I first saw this, I fell in love with it. I don't even really mind the white space on the back (for Bluetooth) because I mostly see the screen anyway.
Everything is so miniature like the charger and the start button that I really find it suitable for me to bring along anywhere where I need my daily dose of music.
Dislikes
The only thing that I will mention that I dislike is that it is so inconvenient for me to press pause/play or turn the volume up when its down the side of the nano. They actually blend in with the nano and so when I want to pause/play or change the volume - I have to take the nano out because it takes me way too long to shuffle it around my bag/pocket to find which side is the pause/play.
Another thing is the way I have to take out the entire nano to change the song! I actually do set it as a playlist but I'm one of those people that like changing songs but I just wish there was an easier way to change the song without taking out the entire nano or something. Other than that I'm pretty much content with it.
Music Quality
L to R: The NEW iPod Nano earphones and the Lightning Charger
Listening to Regina Spektor!
I kind of really love the new earphones. They fit perfectly in my ear and direct the music straight into my ears. The negative part of the new earphones is that the earphones MUST only be in the right or left ear - it can't be any other way. So the left earbud must only be in the left ear or otherwise it will be rather uncomfortable! So if I wanted my friend to listen as well, it will be quite difficult. Other than that ~ it's a gem! The quality is so good and makes the music I listen to so much better!
The music app is also quite easy to use and is seperated into so many different sections like podcasts, song, album, artist, genre, Audiobooks etc. You can also shake it to shuffle all the songs which is quite convenient. I also recently discovered that a woman will tell you what song you're listening to when you press near the volume button but I have yet to confirm what button I pressed but it was quite weird!
I went to the city today with my friend, Faith as we haven't been together in such a long time. In my case, I haven't been to the city for months as I have stopped working at Hungry Jacks!
We met up at the train station, and I was running really late and felt bad because I had already pushed the meeting time to 10:30 instead of 10. All was well though. When we stepped onto the train, all the seats were filled up or only single seats were available so we decided to sit in the Prority seats. Then we reached a couple more stations and there were two old ladies who entered and so I quickly moved out of the way and sat elsewhere. Elsewhere meaning a single seat next to some foreigner who was speaking in a different language. Then we set off to our friend Emily's store because Faith has never been there and apparently there is a new store in the back of Emily's family's store. So we went to visit Vivid City which is the name of the store and is similar to Morning Glory. They sell a lot of Korean Pop merchandise like albums, posters, cups and keyrings. They also sell cosmetics, stationary, accessories, phone cases and bags. Me and Faith bought matching hair clips. Mine was pink and hers was a mint blue colour.
Inside Vivid City after buying hairclips
Then we went to Took Bae Kee 2 which is a Korean lunch BBQ restaurant where we had lunch, actually my first meal, and we ordered three dishes. We actually managed to finish them all - all three of us!
~~Our Meal~~
Taking pictures of Emily's disgusting/messy eating area
We ordered two plates of meat - one with bones and the other without bones. They were really good! We also ordered this hot and spicy soup with egg, tofu and beef. It was OK, it tasted really bland but I couldn't really taste it until it cooled down since it was really hot and spicy. It was really bland compared to my beloved kimchi chigae. We also had Aloe Vera as our drink.
It was really funny because we saw the drinks menu and all of us ordered for an aloe vera drink but then the waitress told us that it was actually just a really large bottle. Imagine that! All three of us having three 1L of Aloe Vera! We couldn't even finish that one large bottle between the three of us. It was really nice though!
Emily had to leave after lunch to help her mum with their shop. So it was just me and Faith wandering around the shops. We went to various of different places to look at the clothes but everything was so expensive. That's when we wandered into EB GAMES!!!!! This was the best part of our whole day! Me and Faith are like the best of Sims 3 fans. So when we saw that Sims 3 EPs and Stuff packs were on sale - we immediately bought them. The EPs were all only $19!!!!! The stuff packs (excluding Katy Perry's Sweet Treats) were only $9. That's a really low price compared to what they usually are priced at!
The things I bought today
The next stop was at Utopia where Faith bought us 'Winter Love Milk Tea with Chocolate Sago' which she has never tried before but I have so I recommended it to her. She doesn't like it though :( We did take lots of photos though! We tested out the functions on my camera!
Faith on her iPhone, the guy behind her tried to photobomb
SIMS 3 #YOLO

Trying out the vignette feature on my camera
And then we went to other shops to browse around but didn't find anything worthy of buying or interesting enough. We decided to have sushi after but Faith's mum, who was taking us home, told us that she would be coming to Greenwood station to pick us up. So we quickly caught the train without even finishing our sushi. I feel really bad now, Faith paid for the majority of my lunches today. :(
Back at home, I tried to install Sims 3 Showtime but then my computer stuffed up the original Sims 3 game and now everything is LOOOSSTTTT?!?!!?!! Yeah, so I decided to blog about my day. I don't know whether today has been a bad day or a good day but I can't play Sims 3 :<
One of those rare blogger moments where you post two posts in one day for your favourite book. (One of my favourite books)
So after half a year of waiting for the movie to come out - the trailer is finally getting released tomorrow at the MTV pre show!!!!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is about a wallflower named Charlie and his friends, family and school experiences as a teenager. I won't spoil too much in case you want to read it but I will leave you with few of my favourite quotes from the book. Which is lying right beside me on my bed! I am re-reading it before I watch the trailer and plan to re-read it before I watch the movie!
Charlie, Patrick and Sam
It's strange because sometimes, I read a book, and I think I am the people in the book We accept the love we think we deserve.I feel infinite.'He's a wallflower.'...And in that moment, I swear we were infinite. I am very interested and fascinated by how everyone loves each other, but no one really likes each other. I really think that everyone should have watercolors, magnetic poetry, and a harmonica.Sam and Patrick looked at me. And I looked at them. And I think they knew. Not anything specific really. They just knew. And I think that's all you can ever ask from a friend.Everyone else is either asleep or having sex. I've been watching cable television and eating jello.
I wasn't sure of the cast at first but then I saw the trailer and was all excited about it and though they suited the characters perfectly. Stephen Chbosky, who is the author of the book, is directing and wrote the screenplay for it so if he interpreted his book this way then I'll accept it!
I love the book because I can relate to Charlie. I am a wallflower. I also love the characters, the mystery behind it, the humour that I laugh out loud to and just the plot in general. I also love how it makes me feel like I'm actually receiving letters and being brought along with the ride. I just love it and I can't wait to watch the movie. Hopefully it comes to Australia and even if it doesn't, I hope to watch it one way or another.
The novel is definitely not for everyone, it's a little dark and shows a lot of teenager's lives. People will either love it or hate it - I'm just one of those who love it.
"So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."
It might come across as a shock to everyone, since I usually like every movie I watch except for some...But personally, I didn't really like the Hunger Games. Honestly, I would prefer Breaking Dawn part 1 (only breaking dawn out of the twilight saga) over the Hunger games. I know many of my friends love it so much and think it's even better than Harry Potter. Seriously?! This movie gave me a migraine and I couldn't even see what was happening. The worst part is, is that it was so unrealistic and it was like they were trying to put everything into the book! Some people might complain that it didn't stay true to the book and what not, but I believe that the most important part of making a movie based on a novel, is just to pick out the important events and place it in the movie. You don't need to put every single detail into the movie unless you want it to be like 10 hours long.
So if you don't know already - Skins UK version (NOT US version, it so far looks completely rubbish btw)
Skins is a British teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, South West England, through the two years of sixth form. The controversial plot line explores issues such as dysfunctional families, mental illness (including eating disorders), sexual orientation identity, substance abuse and death. - Taken from Wikipedia
Okay, if you're not into Gossip Girl and all that stuff you're thinking that it's either just like that or worse. Believe me, I reckon Skins is completely way better than Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl may be more fancy and rich and 'oh the posh lives of so and so' but 2 words: it's so unrelatable and unrealistic. Unless you're a rich socialite who goes to a rich expensive school, then yes - you can relate to it. And yes, if you sleep with different guys even if you don't like them. Seriously, I used to love Gossip Girl but now that I've thought about it. It's really actually quite stupid. The only ever couple I actually do like is Chuck and Blair. The rest of the couples ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS break up. So Serena sleeps with Dan, break up, Serena sleeps with Nate, they break up, Nate sleeps with Jenny, Jenny sleeps with Chuck, Chuck sleeps with Blair, Blair sleeps with Nate, Nate sleeps with Vanessa, Vanessa sleeps with Dan.... you know? It's like they're sleeping with each other. I do love the fashion and the setting. But especially the fashion.
edit:// [02/01/11] Okay, I reckon I'm being unreasonable - I actually do like Gossip Girl but when you compare it to Skins. Skins is 10000 times more better. Gossip Girl has some pros and cons too! If you've ever read the book, it's actually a really good read. Though the characters in the book and the characters in the show are really different. I think I like Gossip Girl mostly because of the fashion, as I've mentioned, and the glitz and glamour they're surrounded in. There's also the Queen Bee - Blair and the parties and the many events that socialites go to. Which is what makes it interesting, for me because it's like going into a new world of the rich and famous. Which is what Dan actually feels like as he's brought into Serena's world. It's not all perfect, there's many flaws and I like that. It's not that I hate Gossip Girl but I used to love it when I watched season 1 but now that I think it over - it's actually not that good.
Now...Skins is another completely different teenage drama. It focuses lots of different issues that most teenagers face and it's relatable and sort of realistic I guess. I wouldn't know, I'm not British. (But neither am I American) I do know that we've studied about teenagers and drugs and unsafe sex and eating disorders though in school though. Though I do have to warn you (before you get addicted to it!) that they use a lot of swear words and I don't think that anyone younger than 13 should really watch this.
The teenagers in Skins worry about their virginity, their family, they worry about their religion and how their friends think because one of the characters is gay.
You have your gorgeous confident ringleader who is manipulative and seems to get everything his way.
You have the person who likes his best friend's girlfriend and can't even tell that some other girl is obsessed with him and he has to suffer with getting a good school grade.
You have the girl who has an eating disorder and tries to suicide because the guy doesn't like him.
You have your religious guy who prays 5 times a day.
You have the party person who takes drugs and has fallen in love with his teacher.
You have the stunning gorgeous girl who worries about his gorgeous boyfriend because he secretly cheats on her with some rich girl.
You have the musician who comes from a musical background and practices hard for a competition but doesn't win.
Then you have the openly gay character and you know where that leads him.
Every single one of the characters, teenagers can relate in some way or another. My favourite characters are Cassie and Maxxie. :)
Cassie
Maxxie
I'm sorry Gossip Girl, but I really did try, I watched like 2 seasons and a bit of season 3 :/
Paradise Kiss will be released as a live-action movie starring Kitagawa Keiko and Mukai Osamu. The film’s release date has been set for May 2011, but to indulge the hungry fans, some scene stills as well as a more-detailed cast list has just been revealed!
My hands are temporarily shaking as I type this out and originally I couldn't be stuffed typing this and just wanted to leave the pic there since you could read it yourself. But I reckon you deserve an explanation event though I'm so happy and excited right now.
Well 2NE1 is having a comeback on September 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMG I KNOW!!!!
Then as I continued reading, it said that their new album was To Anyone.
Guess what? In Computer Science class we're making sites and we were handed a new task today to create a site based on your favourite hobby and I chose 2NE1 fan website. I named it To Anyone because it sounded like 2NE1 and then I started creating it.
My site: TO ANYONE
Their album: TO ANYONE
And this happened before I even knew about their comeback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: Every blogger out there that simply blogs out of interest just like me and doesn't exactly want to be a freelance blogger like some blogger celebrities like Perez Hilton or Xiaxue - then just be careful what you upload onto your blog.
In computer science class this week, I googled my nickname and clicked onto images finding out that plenty of pictures from this blog and some from my previous blogs's pictures had been uploaded onto Google Images. I actually deleted those photos and made my blog private because of that.
My friend -_-" told some students at school and they were looking at in in class today and reading my blog from last year (and I wrote some really embarrassing stuff on there) so therefore I'm going to be really careful in what I upload and write onto my blog. So in the end, Google who I thought was my best friend turned out to be my worst enemy and stabbed me in the back. So I hope you bloggers out there will just be careful and think before you upload a photo onto your blog because you never know when that photo will appear on Google Images!
Out of all those pictures...they had to choose those.
Mood: - Blahhhh!
Music: - Raymond Lam - Until you find me
I haven't blogged in years!! Because my internet was being so slow!! Itwas so slow I got so bored and had nothing to do and dad couldn't download anymore because the internet wasn't moving so then I had nothing to do but study. Studying is so boring.
I did such a bad job in my computer science exam :'( and I think I failed my english reading as well because I couldn't quite catch the concept. I hope a do a better job for Viewing, writing, maths exam and economics exam. I just can't wait until this week is over :/
Anyways, I was looking at everything I had missed out and catching up with things. When I discovered this:
Even though I lost Jenny's grave and Jay's grave is all alone. They will always be together in heaven and will always be remembered as being the first generation and whatever.
The Kei's
Jenny was my first favourite character because she was pretty and everything. I can't believe she lived such a short elderly life. I guess you could say that I didn't really fulfill her wants and everything. Her lifetime wish was to be Captain Hero which I didn't really develop since she stayed at home looking after the kids most of the time and she spent her youth like that. Quite miserable. She had a family aspiration.
Jay was handsome and he and Jenny lived a wealthy life and he definitely wasn't expecting twins the second round. All he really cared was Pleasure but since there were three kids at home, he couldn't really fulfill those wants. He wanted to be a Celebrity Chef which will now be Enakei's lifetime aspiration and I really want to fulfill it in Jay's place since he never got to acheive it. He had the pleasure aspiration and had a slacker career before he died.
Ju Yeon was the first child and is the eldest. She was their first experience and everything. She was born gorgeous with Jay's eyes and everything else was taken from Jenny so she was gorgeous. Her lifetime wish is to be some Criminal or something but I chose the Medicine path for her instead and now I can't quite seem to get out of it since she's earning so much from it and gets promoted a lot. She's married to Key and have a son named Timothy. They live in a different house and have the last name 'Evans.' Ju Yeon has the Wealth aspiration so she likes going to work and buying stuff.
Alex Kei is the boy twin and he looks like Jenny with the big eyes and pale skin and everything. He has the Knowledge Aspiration and is extremely neat and outgoing but not very nice like Enakei. He is now an Adult sim. He was loved by Jenny and Jay and Ju Yeon when he was first born because he was a boy and grew up well while Enakei grew up a bit wonky but now it seems like Enakei is everyone's best friend.
Enakei Kei is the girl twin and looks like Jay with small eyes and a skinny face. Her lifetime Aspiration is to be a Celebrity Chef and her Aspiration is of popularity. She loves to make friends and she's extremely neat and outgoing. She lives with Alex in a double story house before she finds her own house to live in.
The Evans
This includes Ju Yeon who was married to Key
Shadow Evans is a Romance Sim and is the mother of Key. She was only created because I needed an adult sim for Key. You see, Key and Ju Yeon met when they were teenagers because I didn't want Ju Yeon having her first kiss with an already created character. Shadow doesn't really care about Key's school work so even when Key was failing from school she didn't even get any Fears about it which is good since all sh ever cares about is making friends and dating and WooHoo.
Key Evans takes after her mother's natural tan. He's gorgeous so a lot of girls wanted to make friends with him and came over after school or work. Rarely any boys. Then he met Ju Yeon...and now they're happily married and have a boy named Timothy. His lifetime aspiration is to have 6 children but I've already crossed that one off my list since I'm definitely not going to let that happen. I've learnt from my mistakes of having too many children. Jenny died before Alex and Enakei grew up into adults so it was quite sad. Key works as actually I can't remember....I'll get back to this one.
Timothy Evans doesn't look like his father or mother at all and is quite tannish but white at the same time. He has his father's pretty blue eyes though. But I can't seem to figure out where his lips are from. Since neither Ju Yeon's or Key's lips are thick and big. He's grown up into a child now and is best friends with a girl named Tommy February who looks similar to his mother - Ju Yeon when she was her age. I'm going to have fun playing Timothy when he grows older. Timothy and Tommy :)
I always have thoughts about moving to another blog host like Tumblr because it has so many features and everything but I've decided to stick to this one as my main one. Since I've never really had a blog that I've had since last year (September!) It's seems such a long time but really it isn't. That was in like term 3 and seemed such a long way ago.
I first remembered making it because I was really inspired by some of the other bloggers who did pictures as their blogs and everything so I did it too but it was hard work. My cartoons weren't even cute at all like theirs. So then I just stayed to typing things out like most bloggers do. I don't really remember what got me into blogging really. I just remember it was a REALLLYYY long time ago. I'll try finding one for you ;)
Anyways, recently I bought Sims 2 Double Deluxe and started playing and then my sims had twins! It's so annoying. The toddlers especially they crawl all around and everything and the teenage girl is like failing school because of them and the parents are like super red in needs D:
As you can seee there are two baby beds and two diaper changing things.
So, the internet on the larger computer's internet got cut off so I had to use the crappy computer's internet - my laptop is also broken because for some reason it won't charge the batts so it ran out x.x
Anyways, I turned on the larger computer on and like prayed to God to help me fix the internet for the router NETGEAR thingie and it worked! I clicked on Repair (which I did previously but it didn't work before) but then suddenly it worked!!!! I was like WOW!
I was like OMG OMG OMG! Finally, big comp is fixed!
